Sample Written Test

Instructions: This sample test consists of 10 questions. The actual Class D knowledge test consists of 32 questions of which 24 must be answered correctly to pass the test. All of the answers are found in the Delaware Driver's Manual. Read each question completely and select the one best answer. The answers to these test questions are listed at the end of this section.

  1. When you change lanes:
    1. Look into the rear-view mirror.
    2. Look over your shoulder in the direction you plan to move.
    3. Look in the left side mirror.
  2. Drivers turning left must yield to:
    1. Overtaking cars.
    2. Oncoming cars.
    3. No Cars
  3. You must make a report after an accident when damage to one of the vehicles is over $500:
    1. No matter who was at fault
    2. Only if it was your fault.

  8. Make room for cars entering freeways by:
    1. Slowing down.
    2. Moving over a lane if there is no on next to you.
    3. Maintain your speed and position.
  9. If bad weather makes it hard for you to see, you should:
    1. Speed up to get off the road quickly.
