When you apply for, or renew a driver license or identification card in Delaware you will be asked if you wish to be an Organ and Tissue Donor. If you say yes, a "RED HEART", will be displayed your credential. There are brochures available at the DMV front desk containing information about your donation. In order to prevent confusion and misunderstandings upon your death, we suggest you also inform your family of your decision to be an organ and tissue donor. Once you have designated yourself as an Organ and Tissue Donor, this designation once you die, may not be revoked according to Delaware law.
You may request to become an Organ and Tissue Donor by accessing the online form by clicking the following link: Sign up to become an Organ and Tissue Donor. This will allow you to request that your driving record be updated with your new Organ Donor Status.
